About the event

Join us for 6 Wednesday's ~ Starting July 13th

Other dates include: 7/20, 7/27, 8/3, 8/10, & 8/17

6:00-pm-8:00pm

Class Price: $360 (Price includes all materials, firing, and glazing)

All skill levels are welcome! This class is perfect for the beginner clay student looking to learn all there is about throwing on the wheel - some hand building techniques will also be discussed. Those with more advanced skills will have their lessons tailored to their experience levels. Students will learn to throw on the wheel and how to properly trim your items to prepare for glazing, once bisque fired.

Class price and supply fee includes 22 pounds of clay and use of studio tools, glazing, and all firing.

Students are asked to wear closed toe shoes, clothes they don't mind getting dirty, and to bring a clean towel with them each week (in most cases, the clay will wash out of clothing and towels).

*Class for adults & mature teens*

Please keep in mind that pottery is a process. The time you will spend in class is for learning beginner/intermediate skills and for making your beautiful creations. The pieces you will create during these sessions will need to be bisque fired once your class is completed and they are fully dry (in the greenware state). This will take roughly 1-2 weeks. During your session, your instructor will inform you about our scheduled "glaze day", which is open to all students taking pottery throughout the quarter. You are welcome to attend this session, free of charge to learn about what it takes to glaze your bisqued pieces. Your glazed works will then be glaze fired, which will take another 1-2 weeks for completed pieces to be ready for pick up in their finished state. All works will be microwave and food safe. You are not required to attend the glaze session - normally held on a Saturday - however, if you are not able to attend, the instructor of your session will select the best glazes for your pieces. The anticipated time from the end of your class session for the studio to contact you to pick up your completed projects is about 4-6 weeks from the last day of your session.
