About the Event

Join us for 6 Wednesday evenings!

Starting ~ Wednesday, September 27th, 6 - 8 PM

Other dates include: 10/4, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25, & 11/1

Group class price includes ALL 6 sessions, use of studio tools, all materials, firings, and glazing

Ages: 16 & up

All skill levels are welcome! This class is perfect for the beginner clay student looking to learn all there is about throwing on the wheel - some hand building techniques will also be discussed. Those with more advanced skills will have their lessons tailored to their experience levels. Students will learn to throw on the wheel and how to properly trim your items to prepare for glazing, once bisque fired.

Students are asked to wear closed toe shoes, clothes they don't mind getting dirty, and to bring a clean towel with them each week (in most cases, the clay will wash out of clothing and towels).

Please keep in mind, pottery is a process. The time you will spend in class is for learning beginner/intermediate skills and for making your beautiful creations.

During your session, your instructor will inform you about the scheduled "glaze day", which is open to all students taking pottery throughout the quarter. You are welcome to attend this session, free of charge to learn about what it takes to glaze your bisqued pieces. You are not required to attend the glaze session - normally held on a Saturday. However, if you are not able to attend, the instructor of your session will select the best glazes for your pieces. The anticipated time from the end of your class session for the studio to contact you to pick up your completed projects is about 6-8 weeks from the scheduled glaze day.

All works will be food safe, unless otherwise noted by your instructor when the works are picked up. For the sake of longevity, we strongly recommend hand-washing your items and not using the items in the microwave or oven.
